  1. Neon to Nature

Grab your rental (SUV recommended for some of those dirt access roads) and stock up on a massive cooler of water. You're leaving the slots for the slots—slot canyons, that is.

    • Zion National Park South Entrance

After a scenic drive through the Virgin River Gorge, you'll hit Springdale. Grab a quick sandwich at a local deli before heading into the park.

    • The Narrows

The Narrows is the tidal strait separating the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York City. It connects the Upper New York Bay and Lower New York Bay and forms the principal channel by which the Hudson River flowing south from upstate New York and the New England regions, empties into the Atlantic Ocean.

    • Springdale

Crash in this gateway town. The shuttle system makes it easy to get around without worrying about parking.

  2. Zion Heights to Hoodoo Country
