      Hike the paved Riverside Walk to the start of the Narrows. If the water level is safe, wade in a bit to experience the towering canyon walls closing in.

Some 35,835 acres (14,502 ha) or 56 mi² (145 km²) in extent, the designated area around the spectacular Bryce Canyon (not actually a canyon, but rather a giant natural amphitheater created by erosion) became a United States National Monument in 1923 and was designated as a National Park in 1928.

      This is the "must-do" hike. You’ll descend from Sunset Point down "Wall Street" (a narrow switchback canyon) and walk among the spire-like hoodoos.

    • Kiva Coffeehouse

      Stop here for a break. The architecture is cool, and the views over the Grand Staircase-Escalante are unbeatable.

      If you're feeling active, this 6-mile round-trip hike leads to a stunning 126-foot waterfall in the middle of the desert.

      Capitol Reef National Park is a national park of the United States in south-central Utah. The park is approximately 60 miles (100 km) long on its north–south axis and just 6 miles (10 km) wide on its east-west axis, on average. The park was established in 1971 to preserve 241,904 acres of desert landscape and is open all year, with May through September receiving the most visitors.

      Mesa Arch is a pothole arch on the eastern edge of the Island in the Sky mesa in Canyonlands National Park in northern San Juan County, Utah, United States. Mesa Arch is a spectacular natural stone arch perched at the edge of a cliff with vast views of canyons, Monster Tower, Washer Woman Arch, Airport Tower, and the La Sal Mountains in the distance.

      Walk the rim trail for views that seem to go on forever. You can see the "White Rim" road winding thousands of feet below you.

      Look down at the crazy switchbacks. If you see dust clouds, those are 4x4 vehicles tackling the most famous back-country road in Utah.

  6. Arches and Icons

    You need a timed-entry reservation here! Get in early to beat the heat and the crowds.

      Easy walks to see North Window, South Window, and Turret Arch. You can get right up underneath them.

      Delicate Arch is a 52-foot-tall (16 m) freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park, near Moab in Grand County, Utah, United States. The arch is the most widely recognized landmark in Arches National Park and is depicted on Utah license plates and a postage stamp commemorating Utah's centennial anniversary of admission to the Union in 1896.

  7. The Long Haul Back

    It's a long haul back to Vegas, so we're hitting the I-70 and I-15.

      Saint George, also George of Lydda, was an early Christian martyr who is venerated as a saint in Christianity. According to holy tradition, he was a soldier in the Roman army. Of Cappadocian Greek origin, he became a member of the Praetorian Guard for Roman emperor Diocletian. During the Diocletianic Persecution, he was sentenced to death for refusing to recant his Christian faith.
