Day 1 · Milan to Lake Como

Driving through the terraced vineyards of the Adda river valley.

Heart of the valley. Great for quiet car-sleeping spots nearby.
Day 3 · Into the Dolomites
The scenery gets dramatic. Expect steep hairpins and epic vistas.
Bolzano
Where Italy meets Austria. Grab a speck sandwich.
Lago di Carezza
The 'Rainbow Lake'. Unreal colors against the Latemar group.
Day 4 · Cortina & High Passes
Pure driving bliss. The SS48 is one of the world's best roads.
Passo Falzarego
Epic hairpins. Your Mazda 3 will love these curves.
Day 5 · Friuli Foothills
Leaving the high peaks for the rolling hills of the Prosecco region.
Udine
Elegant squares and zero tourist crowds. Very authentic.
Day 6 · The Venetian Plain
Flat driving today. Park outside Venice and take the train in.
Venice (Mestre)
Base camp for the day. Safe parking garages here.
Day 7 · Verona & Garda
Heading west to the largest lake in Italy. The tunnels are cool.

Walk the Roman Arena. The city is very walkable.
Sirmione
A peninsula sticking into the lake. Pure magic.
Day 8 · Food Valley
Parma and Modena. This is where the best food in Italy lives.

The city of gastronomy. Don't rush the lunch.
Day 9 · Apennine Crossing
Crossing from Emilia to Liguria. Narrow, winding, and empty.
Passo della Cisa
The historic pass between the north and the sea.
Day 10 · Ligurian Coast
Steep cliffs and colorful houses. Parking is the biggest challenge.
Camogli
Less crowded than Portofino but just as beautiful.
Day 11 · Genoa & Pesto
Exploring the narrow 'caruggi' alleys of the old port.
Genoa
Gritty, grand, and full of character. Explore the alleys.
Day 12 · Piedmont Wine Country
UNESCO hills, truffles, and Barolo wine. Pure luxury for the eyes.
Barolo
The king of wines. The village is tiny and charming.
Day 13 · Turin Elegance
Wide boulevards and historic cafes. Very different from the rest.
Turin
Italy's first capital. Grand and sophisticated.
Day 14 · Gran Paradiso Edge
Heading into the oldest national park in Italy. Look for Ibex!
Ceresole Reale
A stunning alpine lake surrounded by 3000m peaks.
Day 15 · Back to Milan
A smooth drive back to the city to wrap up the loop.
Milan Finish
Trip complete! Time for a celebratory Aperol Spritz.
