Across the Prairies to the Great Lakes

A cross-country journey spanning the Canadian Prairies through to the Great Lakes region.

Route: Brooks → Regina → Winnipeg → Thunder Bay → Sault Ste. Marie → Toronto

We're tackling the classic Canadian cross-country run! Since we're covering about 3,300km in just 3 days, this is a "true trucker" style road trip. Pack plenty of podcasts and snacks, because we'll be chasing the horizon across the prairies and the rugged Shield.

Money Savers
  • Gas is often cheaper in Alberta and Manitoba than in Ontario—fill up before crossing the provincial lines.
  • In Northern Ontario, gas stations can be 100km apart, so don't let your tank drop below a quarter.
