Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
One of Iceland's most famous falls where you can actually walk in a cave behind the cascading water. It's loud, misty, and totally magical.
Skogafoss Waterfall
A massive 60m drop waterfall. On sunny days, the spray creates double rainbows that are perfect for your feed.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
World-famous volcanic beach with dramatic basalt stacks and crashing Atlantic waves. It's moody, dark, and beautiful.
Day 2 · Glaciers & Ice Lagoons
Heading east to the land of ice. Get ready for blue bergs and diamond beaches.
Skaftafell National Park
A lush oasis under the Vatnajokull glacier. The hike to Svartifoss is a must-do for the 'organ pipe' rock formations.
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
A deep lagoon filled with icebergs that have broken off the Breidamerkurjokull glacier. Keep an eye out for seals!
Diamond Beach (Breidamerkursandur)
Where the icebergs from the lagoon wash up on the black volcanic shore. The contrast is insane.
Hofn
Arrive in the lobster capital of Iceland for a well-earned dinner.
Day 3 · The Wild East to Myvatn
Long driving day through the fjords and into the volcanic north.
Seydisfjordur Village
A colorful artistic village tucked at the end of a long fjord. The drive over the mountain pass is spectacular.
Dettifoss Waterfall
A beast of a waterfall. The sheer volume of water crashing down is terrifying and awesome at the same time.
Hverir Geothermal Area
A high-temperature geothermal field with boiling mud pots and hissing fumaroles. No vegetation, just raw earth.
Myvatn Nature Baths
Soak in the blue water to wash off the long drive. Less crowded than Blue Lagoon.
Day 4 · Capital of the North
Explore the volcanic wonders of Myvatn before heading to Akureyri.
Dimmuborgir Lava Fields
A large area of unusually shaped lava fields. It looks like a collapsed citadel from a fantasy movie.
Godafoss Waterfall
One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, where the Skjalfandafljot river falls 12 meters.
Akureyri City Center
Iceland's second-largest city. It's got a great vibe, cool cafes, and heart-shaped traffic lights.
Day 5 · The Long Road Home
Final push back to Reykjavik through the rolling hills of the west.
Glaumbaer Turf Farm
A beautifully preserved turf farmhouse dating back to the 18th century. It shows how Icelanders survived the harsh winters.
Grabrok Crater
A volcanic cone right off the Ring Road. The wooden stairs make it an easy climb for a great view of the lava fields.
Hallgrimskirkja & Downtown
The iconic rocket-shaped church and the colorful streets of the capital. You made it around the island!
